About
The name
A chart room is where the navigation happens. Not the bridge, where the decisions are announced — the room below it with the instruments, the tables, the corrections for magnetic variation, and the working shown in pencil so the next watch can check it.
A chart room does not tell you where to go. It tells you, as precisely as the instruments allow, where you are and what the conditions look like. Then someone who knows the ship decides.
That is the intended relationship here. You are the one steering.
Why this exists
Chinese metaphysics is, underneath, two things: a large amount of exacting arithmetic, and several centuries of written argument about what that arithmetic means.
Both of those are showable. Almost nobody shows them.
Instead the field runs on atmosphere — the room, the vocabulary, the authority of a person who will not explain how they arrived at a conclusion. And downstream of that atmosphere sits a business model that identifies a difficulty and then sells relief from it. Once you see that pattern you cannot unsee it, and it is the reason a lot of thoughtful people who are quietly curious about these frameworks will not go anywhere near them.
We think those people are right to be wary of what is on offer, and wrong to conclude there is nothing in the frameworks worth their time.
So: keep the tradition, remove the theatre. Cast the charts exactly and check them against the classical formulas. Label every claim by what kind of claim it is. Disclose the school disagreements instead of quietly picking a side. Say what the framework cannot do, at length and in the document itself rather than in a footer. Never sell a charm or an amulet, so that there is no version of this business that profits from your worry.
What is left is a reading you can examine, argue with, and take or leave. It is less impressive than a performance. It is considerably more useful.
Mr. Ding 丁 — Principal Analyst
The work is signed as Mr. Ding 丁 so that the reports are assessed on what is in them.
The practice stands on three things.
The sources, in the original. 渊海子平, 三命通会, 滴天髓, 子平真诠 and 穷通宝鉴 for BaZi; 紫微斗数全书 for Zi Wei Dou Shu. Not quoted second-hand from a modern summary — worked through and documented school by school, with the points where the schools disagree written down as disagreements rather than smoothed into one house style. The method that came out of that reading is published on this site in full, readable before you spend anything.
Exactness in the casting. The method was rebuilt from those sources, and every convention in it — solar terms to the minute, true solar time, the day boundary, luck-pillar sequencing — was tested against decades of historical charts before the first client reading was written. Chart construction is the one part of this work that has a right answer, and it is treated that way.
Fifteen years of reading things for a living. Banking, wealth management and property: industries where a recommendation that cannot show its working does not survive contact with a committee. Sourcing a claim, labelling it by type, and stating your uncertainty before somebody else finds it are ordinary professional habits there. They transfer unusually well to a tradition that has rarely been asked for them.
Every report is written for the chart in front of me, read line by line, and signed. No lineage is claimed here; the method is shown instead — every convention published.
How the work is actually done
The casting is exact. Chart construction — solar terms, the sexagenary cycle, timezone and longitude corrections, luck-pillar sequencing — has exactly one right answer and is unforgiving of small errors. Every chart is cast to the minute, with the calculation conventions recorded and the day boundary declared, and cross-checked against the classical formulas before a word of the reading is written.
The reading is mine. Every report is written for the chart in front of me and read line by line before it goes out. Nothing reaches you that I have not read in full and would not defend.
Both are disclosed. The provenance record — the timezone applied, the true-solar-time correction, the day-boundary convention, and every school setting chosen — is published openly on this site, where anyone can read it without buying anything, and it is enough for another analyst to reproduce or challenge the work. Where one of those choices materially changed your reading, your report has a section that names it. That is what showing your working means.

Where we are
Singapore. Everything is delivered in writing, in English, by email — Private Sessions on Zoom.
The client base this is built for is English-speaking Chinese-heritage professionals, roughly 28 to 45, usually arriving in the same month they are choosing something: a role, a business, a property, a country. People who have already run the spreadsheet, found that it did not settle the question, and are curious whether the tradition their family half-kept has anything rigorous in it.
If that is you, start with the method — it is published here in full — rather than with us telling you the work is good.

Asking a question before you buy is not an imposition. For a S$288 decision it is the correct order of operations, and we would rather answer three questions and lose the sale than take money from someone the reading was never going to serve.
