Terms of service

Last updated: 17 August 2026

These terms cover what you are buying, what we promise, and what we will not do. They are written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email ding@thechartroomco.com and ask before you order — we would rather answer a question than have you agree to something you did not follow.

1. Who you are contracting with

The Chart Room is a Singapore business providing written Chinese metaphysics readings. “We”, “us” and “our” mean The Chart Room. "You" means the person placing the order.

Reports are written and signed by Mr. Ding 丁, Principal Analyst. You are contracting with the company, not with an individual.

Contact for everything in these terms: ding@thechartroomco.com. We reply within three working days.

2. What we sell

Written interpretive readings within two traditional Chinese frameworks — BaZi (八字) and Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗数) — and, for one product, a live video consultation.

  • Life Chart readings (BaZi, Ziwei, Dual Chart, Founding Cohort): a PDF of roughly fifteen pages, delivered by email.
  • Year Reading: a shorter annual reading, roughly six to eight pages, available to existing Life Chart clients only — see §9.
  • 30-Day Q&A Window and Express Delivery: add-ons to a reading — see §8.
  • Private Session: sixty minutes by video call with a chart prepared in advance — see §10.

All prices are in Singapore dollars. Nothing is physical and nothing is shipped. We are not GST-registered, so no GST is charged.

3. What a reading is, and what it is not

This section is the most important one in this document, and it is not boilerplate.

BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu are traditional interpretive frameworks. They are not scientifically validated prediction. They have no established causal mechanism and have not demonstrated predictive validity under controlled conditions. We take them seriously as structured ways of thinking, and we describe them exactly this way in every report, on every page of this site, and here.

What you are buying is a carefully produced, fully disclosed interpretation of your chart within that framework — computed correctly, written for you, addressed to your question, and labelled claim by claim as mechanical fact, classical doctrine, or analyst interpretation. What this framework cannot tell you is published on this site, at real length, and is readable in full before you buy.

You are not buying a forecast, a guarantee of any outcome, or professional advice. A reading is not, and must not be used as, medical, psychological, legal, financial, investment, tax, insurance, employment, marital or fertility advice. Where your question is really a question for a doctor, a lawyer, or a licensed financial adviser, we will say so and point you there rather than answering it from a chart.

The decisions remain yours. A reading is one input among many, and not the heaviest one. We write to inform a decision you are making, never to make it.

4. Adults only — 18+

Readings are produced for adults only. By ordering you confirm you are 18 or older, and the intake form asks you to confirm it again.

We do not produce readings for anyone under 18, including at a parent's or guardian's request. If we learn an order is for a minor we will cancel it, refund it in full, and delete the data.

5. Placing an order and the intake form

An order is accepted when we email your order confirmation. That email contains a link to the intake form, which collects your date, time and place of birth, your birth-time confidence, and the one question that becomes your decision spotlight.

Your delivery clock starts when the intake form is complete — not when you pay. If it takes you two weeks to check your birth time with a relative, nothing is running down and nothing expires. There is no deadline for submitting the form.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit. If you tell us the wrong birth details we will compute the wrong chart, and that is not a defect we can be held to. If you spot an error, tell us: if we have not started, corrections are free; if we have, we recompute and reissue at no charge anyway. If you correct your birth details after we have started, we recompute at no charge; where the correction changes the chart, delivery may take up to a further five working days.

The intake form asks for your birth-time confidence and we ask you to answer it honestly rather than optimistically. Where an uncertain birth time sits near a boundary that materially affects the chart, the reading is written on the time you gave us and states this plainly, naming which sections depend on the hour and what record would settle it.

6. Third-party birth details

You may only submit another person's birth details if that person knows and has agreed. Their birth data is their personal data and their chart is a document about them; it is not yours to commission.

We may ask you to confirm consent and we will follow up if anything looks otherwise. If we are not satisfied, we decline the order and refund it in full.

We do not produce readings intended to inform a decision about another person — hiring, screening, custody, or similar — and we do not produce compatibility verdicts framed as a yes or a no.

7. Delivery

Five working days from a completed intake form, delivered by email as a PDF attachment. Working days are Monday to Friday excluding Singapore public holidays.

If we are going to miss that, we will tell you before the deadline rather than after it, and say when it will arrive. If a delay is unacceptable to you, you may cancel and take a full refund at that point.

Email is not end-to-end encrypted. If you would prefer a password-protected PDF or a link-based delivery, say so on the intake form or by reply and we will do that.

8. Add-ons

30-Day Q&A Window — S$88

  • Up to five written questions over thirty days, starting on the day your report is delivered.
  • Each answer arrives in writing within three working days, in the same labelled format as the report. Answers are written, not scheduled calls, and they are yours to keep.
  • Requires a current or previous Life Chart. It cannot be bought or used on its own.
  • Your three free clarification questions (§11) run inside this window. Questions about what is already in the report use those three first and do not count against your five — if you send one, we answer it, tell you it was not counted, and you do not have to keep track.
  • Questions we decline under §12 do not count against your five either.
  • Unused windows are refunded in full on request. Partly used windows are refunded pro-rata by questions remaining.
  • When the thirty days close, they close. You may buy another window later.

Express Delivery — S$188

  • Delivery within 2 working days of your completed intake form, instead of five working days. The clock does not start at payment.
  • It changes queue position, not the work. Same length, same sections, same standards. Nothing is trimmed to hit the deadline.
  • If we miss the 2-working-day deadline, we refund this add-on in full without you having to ask, and deliver on the standard timeline.
  • If the delay is on your side — an incomplete form, a birth time you are still checking — the clock simply starts when the form is complete, and no refund arises.
  • A small number of expedite slots exist each week. If they are gone, we tell you before taking the order.
  • Requires a Life Chart in the same order.

9. Year Reading — existing clients only

The Year Reading can only be produced for someone we have already written a Life Chart for. Its entire value is that it sits on top of a chart we already hold; it cannot be read cold and we will not produce it as a first purchase.

Eligibility is checked by hand — there is no automated gate at checkout, so it is possible to order it without qualifying. If we do not hold a Life Chart for you, we refund your order in full and point you to the right starting point. Nothing further is required from you.

If you asked us to delete your data and we no longer hold your chart, we cannot produce a Year Reading from it. In that case we will refund in full, or write a fresh Life Chart if you would rather — your choice.

10. Private Session — S$999

  • Sixty minutes by video call (Zoom), with your chart computed and studied in advance. You receive the prepared chart and a written brief before the session, plus a written summary afterwards and a thirty-day Q&A window.
  • Two sessions per month. That is a real capacity limit — preparation takes the better part of two working days — and it is enforced by inventory. When both are taken, the product shows as sold out until the following month.
  • Minimum notice of seven days when booking. Chart preparation cannot be compressed.
  • Recording is off by default. We record only if you ask. Recordings are deleted after 90 days — see the privacy policy.
  • The same rules apply in conversation as in writing: no charms or amulets sold or recommended, no medical, legal or investment directives, no predictions of death or disaster, and claims labelled by type out loud.

Rescheduling and cancellation

  • More than 7 days before the session: full refund, or reschedule at no charge.
  • 2 to 7 days before: your chart has already been prepared, which is most of the work. 50% refund, or reschedule once at no charge.
  • Less than 48 hours before, or a no-show: no refund — but you still receive the full prepared chart and written brief, and your thirty-day Q&A window still runs. You do not walk away with nothing.
  • If we cancel or reschedule, for any reason: full refund at your option, plus the prepared chart, plus the Q&A window. Ours is the only side that gets no benefit of the doubt here.

11. Corrections, finality, and refunds

The full terms are in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary:

A wrong birth detail is corrected free before delivery. Once the reading has been sent it is final.

  • Before we start: cancel any time, full refund, no reason needed.
  • Before delivery: if a detail you gave us was wrong — date, hour, place, sex — tell us and we cast the chart again at no charge. Delivery may take up to five further working days if the correction changes the chart.
  • After delivery: the reading is final. It is not revised or refunded because the interpretation is not what you hoped for. Within fourteen days you may ask up to three written questions about what is in it, answered at no charge.
  • If we fail to deliver: full refund without you having to ask.
  • A computational error on our side: a chart cast wrongly from correct details is corrected free at any time.

What is not covered

We cannot refund on the grounds that the framework is not true, or that a reading did not predict something.

This is stated before you buy, at length, in §3 above, on every product page, on the How It Works page, and on the closing line of your own report. You are buying a fully disclosed reading within a traditional interpretive framework. You are not buying a forecast, and no outcome in your life triggers a refund.

The guarantee is about whether the work was done properly — computed correctly, written for you, addressed to your question, labelled honestly. On that we are accountable without argument.

Founding-cohort readings are refundable on exactly the same terms as full-price ones. The lower price does not buy a lesser guarantee.

12. What we will not do, and when we decline

The commitments that bear on this contract:

  • We never sell charms, amulets or cures — no objects, bracelets, crystals, placements, rituals, protective date selections, or referrals to anyone who sells them. There is no tier where they appear and no commission arrangement anywhere in this business.
  • We do not sell fear, and we do not predict death, terminal illness or disaster — not directly, and not by phrasing engineered for you to draw the conclusion yourself.
  • No health, legal, investment, marriage or fertility directives.

We may decline an order and refund it in full rather than write something we should not. Grounds include: the question is a medical, legal or fertility question in substance however it is phrased; the chart is a third party's and consent is not established; the client is under 18; we are asked to predict a death or a diagnosis; we are asked to produce something that would be used to make a decision about another person; or the client appears to be in acute distress and is looking to a reading for something a reading cannot give.

In that last case we will say so kindly, refund in full, and where it seems right point toward Samaritans of Singapore (1767) or the Institute of Mental Health helpline (6389 2222).

Where a question crosses one of these lines we say which line and why, answer whatever part of it we legitimately can, and — if it came in through a Q&A window — it does not count against your allowance.

13. Your report — what you may do with it

Your report is yours. Read it, keep it, print it, argue with it, and show it to whoever you like — your partner, another analyst, a sceptical friend. The conventions we computed it under are published on this site, so anyone you show it to can reproduce or challenge our work without asking us for anything. We encourage it.

What you may not do is resell it, publish it commercially, or present it as your own work or as the output of another practice. We retain copyright in the report text, our templates, our research materials, and the methods by which the charts are cast. You have a personal, perpetual licence to use your own report for your own purposes.

You keep your report after a refund. We are not going to pretend to un-send a PDF.

14. Confidentiality and your data

What you write on the intake form — and the question you bring us, which is often the most private thing in the exchange — is not discussed, quoted, or used as an example. Founding-cohort testimonials are the sole exception, and only with that person's specific, separate agreement to each thing quoted.

How your personal data is collected, used, shared, retained and deleted is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: birth data is used to produce your reading and nothing else; it is never sold, never used for marketing, never used to train any model, and never sent to an advertising platform; the intake form carries no advertising or analytics trackers; and you can ask us to delete everything at any time, with deletion completed within seven days and confirmed in writing. No reason required, and asking does not affect any refund you are separately entitled to.

15. Reviews

If you leave a review, it is published as written, whatever the rating — one and two stars included. We do not use apps that route unhappy customers into a private inbox instead of onto the page. We do not offer discounts, entries, or anything else in exchange for a review, and we ask once.

16. Liability, and your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms takes away or limits any right you have under Singapore law, including under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003. If anything below conflicts with a right the law gives you, the law wins and that part simply does not apply.

To be explicit about what this document does not ask you to give up: there is no waiver of your statutory rights, no mandatory arbitration clause, no class-action waiver, and no requirement to raise a complaint within some short window before you lose the right to raise it at all. If you want to bring a claim, the Small Claims Tribunals of the State Courts of Singapore hear consumer claims of this size cheaply and without lawyers, and we will not contest their jurisdiction.

What we are responsible for: producing your reading properly — computed correctly, written for you, addressed to your question, labelled honestly, delivered when we said. Our remedy for failing at that is set out in §11 and in the refund policy: a wrong birth detail corrected free before delivery, a full refund if we fail to deliver, and a computational error corrected at any time.

What we are not responsible for: the decisions you make. A reading is an interpretive document within an unproven traditional framework, sold and described as such. It does not predict outcomes and must not be relied on as though it did. We are not liable for financial, professional, personal or other losses arising from choices you make after reading it, and we do not accept liability for outcomes that a reading did or did not describe.

Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We do not limit or exclude liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under Singapore law.

We do not guarantee that the website is available without interruption. If the site is down when you want to order, email us.

17. If something goes wrong — write to us first

Email ding@thechartroomco.com. We will almost certainly just refund you. A chargeback costs us a fee and costs you several weeks, and there is nothing it achieves here that an email does not achieve faster. This is a request, not a condition — nothing here restricts your right to raise a dispute with your bank or card issuer.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you place your order is the version that governs your order — changes are not applied backwards to work already bought. The "last updated" date at the top is maintained honestly.

19. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause prevents you from bringing a claim in the Small Claims Tribunals, or in any other forum a Singapore consumer is entitled to use.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
